Wycliffe's Apocrypha

John Wycliffe's Apocrypha:
John Wycliffe’s translation of the Apocrypha, part of his mission to make the Bible accessible in English, includes the books traditionally placed between the Old and New Testaments. Though not part of the Hebrew Bible, these texts were respected in Christian communities of his time. Wycliffe’s work brought these writings from Latin into the hands of English-speaking laity, retaining the theological nuances of the Vulgate. The Apocryphal books, like Tobit, Judith, and Wisdom, offer moral teachings and reflections on faith and God’s sovereignty, enriching believers’ spiritual understanding.
